Reuters has dominated coverage of India’s reaction to OPEC+ deciding to extend production cuts. India’s oil minister warned OPEC in early March on the effects of long cuts over demand in consuming countries and reacted shortly after OPEC+’s decision saying it would hurt consumption-led recovery. A week later, Reuters was ahead in reporting that India’s state refiners would cut imports from the Middle East at the government’s request, replacing them with Russian and Guyanese crude. Reuters also found the first cargo of Guyanese crude to India, set to arrive in April, identifying all the companies participating in the trade deal.
